Welcome Home Sunday: August 22nd
Join the St. David’s parish-wide celebration this Sunday, August 22nd, as we Welcome everyone “home.” All educational ministries begin this Sunday, including Middle & High School Sunday schoo. Middle School (6th-8th grades) meets in room 017 and High School (9th-12th grades) meets in room 170. We will meet every Sunday from 10:15-11:00 with the exception of holiday weekends. Chef Ray’s famous Breakfast Tacos will be provided!
All adults are invited to gather in Sumners Hall to reexamine the plethora of opportunities available at St. Daivd’s.
Navigating the Road Ahead: Parent & Youth Information Meeting
All parents of youth in 6th-12th grades are invited to an informational on the youth group community on Sunday, August 29th during the Christian Education hour in Crail B. The Rev. Beth Magill will pass out the September schedule, give an overview of the youth community, and highlight all trips and special events.
Feel free to contact Beth if you are not able to attend and would like to receive any additional information. Please note: there will be no Middle or High School Sunday School classes on August 29th as all parents and youth are encouraged to attend.
Sunday Evening Youth Group Begins: August 29th
Join us to share the highlights from your summer vacation, play some favorite games, and get excited for the year to come!
Middle School meets from 5:00-6:30 and High School from 6:00-7:30. Both groups will share dinner in Sumners Hall from 6:00-6:30. All other evening programming will take place in the high school youth room (170) and Edens Gym.
September 5th:
This year the youth community is going to recommit to the ministry of the Trinity Center, located in our very own building. We’ll kick off the year by hosting the weekly Trinity Streets service on Sunday, September 5th.
Please plan to arrive in Trinity Center by 2PM. We will help to prepare a hot meal, serve the residents, share communion, and simply be present with our neighbors. Hope to see you there!
September 12: STRESS!!!
Where does it come from? How can you manage and get rid of it? Come to talk about your own experiences and learn healthy coping techniques. Middle School meets from 5:00-6:30 and High School meets from 6:00-7:30. Dinner will be provided.
Save the Date: High School Lock-In!!!
Friday, September 17- Saturday, September, 18
You’ll want to be sure to mark your calendar for this favorite event - the high school lock-in! We’ll gather at the church on Friday, September 17th at 7PM and lock ourselves in for a night of fun and fellowship, concluding at 8AM on Saturday, September 18th.
September 19: Spreading the Good News!
Join the 2010 St. David’s Youth Mission team in Sumners during the Christian Education hour as we spread the Good News from our mission work. Please note: No Sunday School or evening youth group for middle and high schoolers on this date.
Los Amigos on September 19th: Parking Garage Drop
Join us for the exciting kick off of Los Amigos! We’ll gather for dinner on the Labyrinth and construction of your safety devices. In keeping with the annual tradition, we’ll drop a fragile, breakable object off the roof of the parking garage onto the labyrinth and wait with anticipation to see whose safety device remains intact! 5:30-7:00PM on Sunday, September 19th.
September 26th: Picnic Dinner with Austin’s Friendliest Bats!
Both Middle and High School youth group will gather for dinner and viewing of the Austin bats on Lady Bird Lake. Please bring a picnic dinner for yourself! We’ll gather in the church lobby
at 6:30PM and walk to the Lake. Pick-up at the church at 8:30PM.
