Children's Ministry Orientation Recap
Did you miss last Sunday's Children's Ministry Orientation? No biggie.
Contact , and I will help you decide where your kid fits and get you registered for Sunday classes. Each kid has their own specific need for Sunday mornings. Some are quiet and focused, and some need a little more song and play. We work hard to create options that fit them, so that we can offer them a good way in to see God here. We have eight incredibly dedicated teachers who volunteer their time to bring our Sunday programs to life. Please join me in thanking them for their dedication when you see them.
Here is what we offer each week during Sunday programming:
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Catechesis is a Montessori-based, experiential educational program focused on liturgy and scripture. We have two classes, referred to as Atriums. The first is for ages 3-6 and the second for ages 7-9. This beloved offering sets us apart as a church. Children direct their own learning in a carefully prepared environment that supports children’s unique capabilities and interests and allows them to grow in love and knowledge of God through the Christian tradition.
Junior Journey
This class is for elementary-age kids who will take a [Super]Heroes Journey this fall. We also have a Joyful Journey where preschoolers get to play and learn about Jesus with Children's Ministry volunteers Elaine and Rex Hunt.
Sunday Check-in and Breakfast
Breakfast rolls out at 9:45 a.m. so that you can drop off your children easily and go to your own Adult formation offerings. Classes run from 10-11 a.m., and then we gather to have Community Time. Our kids will have sing-alongs, service projects, and fun science lessons during that time so they can all be together in community.
If you have gone to the 9 a.m. service, you can pick up at 11:30 a.m. If you are going to the 11:15 a.m. service, I will hang on to the kids until the Peace so they can catch the children’s sermon and still join you for Communion.
Worship Bags
If your little one does not yet have a Sunday worship bag with their name on it, which can be found just outside Historic Church, please let me know!
If your kiddo has moved up to Youth Ministry, you will begin to see their bag on the cart inside Historic Church, rather than outside with the other littles.
