Help with Vidas Robadas/Stolen lives
Wednesdays, Feb. 5, 12, and 19
4:30-6:30 p.m., Sumners Hall
St. David’s will be participating in Texas Impact’s ongoing public art project called "Vidas Robadas/Stolen Lives," an outdoor art installation of t-shirts commemorating the lives of Texans lost to gun violence. At St. David’s, we are creating our Vidas Robadas installation together as a form of public prayer for victims of gun violence and as a call for people of faith and conscience to unite for reasonable gun safety solutions.
Starting Wednesday, Feb. 5, St. David's Advocacy Group and parish volunteers will work on the installation on Wednesday evenings in Sumners Hall. All are invited to help with this meaningful effort. The installation of 400 shirts is planned to be displayed Feb. 20-March 2.
As a high-visibility church in downtown Austin, we hope our participation in this project will increase awareness about this important public health and safety issue while bringing attention to the Texas Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence Advocacy Day happening at the Texas Capitol on Thursday, Feb. 27.
All are invited to volunteer with this meaningful effort – we would love to see you on Wednesday evenings in Sumners Hall.
