Lighting The Way for La Gran Posada on Dec. 20
A big thank you to everyone — especially the children — who joined in the fun of making luminarias last Sunday for La Gran Posada at St. David’s on Saturday, Dec. 20, at 5:30 p.m. These lovely luminarias will help light the pathway for our posada procession throughout St. David’s.
As part of the posada tradition, adults will carry candles and children are invited to wear nativity costumes as we form a procession to follow a route and sing a re-enactment of Mary and Joseph's search for lodging on their journey to Bethlehem. When the procession is finally welcomed into a safe place for Jesus’ birth, everyone celebrates with music, prayer, piñatas, and food.
