Seeking Part-Time Front Desk Receptionist

Reports To: Front Desk Manager
FLSA Status: Part-Time
Position Overview:
We are seeking a friendly, approachable, and reliable part-time Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. This role primarily involves working on Saturdays and Sundays, with the potential for additional hours depending on event and building schedules. The ideal candidate will create a welcoming environment while assisting clergy, staff, and parishioners with various front desk duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet clients, visitors, and guests, determining the purpose of their visit and notifying appropriate staff.
- Answer, screen, and route phone calls; take messages as necessary.
- Receive, log, and distribute mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries.
- Assist with parking validations for the Parking Garage as required.
- Ensure the security protocols are followed, including managing building access.
- Foster a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors, including homeless neighbors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Rector or Parish Administrator.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A high school diploma is required; prior customer service or receptionist experience, particularly in a downtown environment, is preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

- Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and alert while engaging with diverse individuals.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to communicate verbally, both in person and by phone.
- Position requires sitting for extended periods while working at a desk or on the phone.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, and reach for items overhead.
- Specific vision abilities are required such as close and color vision.
