Tell Us What You Really Think: Listening Group Registration Open

01Nov

Our Rector Transition Process is in full swing and we want everyone’s input. Thank you all for completing the Parish Survey!

The presentation from Oct. 19 is here. An executive summary of the survey results is here, and for those who want the wonky, detailed results, you can find an annotated version here.

Once you’ve reviewed the survey Executive Summary, please sign up to share your input during one of the Listening Groups. Dates and times are listed below. Snacks will be provided at all sessions.

In-person sessions at St. David’s have the most spots available, so please sign up for one of these:

If you are unable to make any of the in-person sessions, there will be two Zoom sessions. Note that there are limited spots (10 participants) in each Zoom session.

To accommodate our parishioners at The Triangle and Westminster, sessions are being scheduled there separately. There will also be a session for the Youth, also scheduled separately.

Thanks again for making time to share your input during the Listening Groups.

Search Committee Update from Senior Warden

Next week, the vestry will begin the process of taking applications from members of the congregation who are called to serve on the Search Committee for our next rector. The Search Committee is a vital ministry to the church in that the committee will review candidate profiles presented by the diocese, meet with candidates, and ultimately, recommend who the vestry calls as our next rector.

The Search Committee will consist of 12 members: four named by the vestry and eight from the congregation appointed through an application process. Per diocesan guidance, St. David’s staff and clergy may not serve on the committee.

While more information will be communicated next week, the characteristics listed below will help as you begin to discern if you wish to serve:

  • Called to a prayerful practice, guided by the Holy Spirit, to select our next rector by putting personal interests aside and represent the full congregation through collaboration with other committee members.
  • Confirmed member of The Episcopal Church.
  • St. David’s pledging member who regularly attends Sunday worship services and is engaged in St. David’s ministry.
  • Will make the work of the Search Committee a top priority for the full search (6-12+ mos.).
  • Available to attend mandatory in-person training at St. David’s on 1/10/26 from 1 to 4 p.m.
  • Available for occasional weekend travel. The parish will reimburse travel expenses.

A subcommittee of the vestry is managing the Search Committee selection and will present to the vestry for appointment a panel of eight from the applications received. The application window will open next week and close Dec. 5.

We ask that you begin to discern if you are called to committee service and to encourage others to apply who you believe would represent the congregation well with their service on the Search Committee.

We ask for your continued prayer as we embark on this step in calling our next rector.

Peace,
John Crow
Sr. Warden
