2026 Youth Ministry Orientation

Hello my friends! I’ve missed y’all after being on maternity leave this summer. Thank you for all your prayers and well-wishes; baby and I are doing fine! I cannot wait to see you all again on Orientation Sunday! For parents of youth joining youth ministry for the first time, I recommend you attend the first half hour of our Youth Ministry Orientation Sunday, Aug. 23, at 10 a.m. This will give you some key information about what to expect and how we will communicate with you this year. Youth in sixth through 12th grades are invited to hang out with us for the full hour. After we (lovingly) kick the parents out, we’ll go over our covenant for the year and establish some norms.   

Youth Fall Preview 

Putting a few key dates on your radar for what’s next for Youth Ministry! 

• Aug. 19, first day of EYC; meet at 5:30 p.m. in Sumners Hall for dinner 

• Aug. 22, Pride Parade; come walk with your queer friends and allies in the Austin Pride Parade and worship at the Pride Eucharist at St. David’s at 6 p.m. 

• Aug. 23, Orientation Sunday; meet at 10 a.m. in room 170

• Aug. 23, Back to School Pool Party; 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Rev. Chad McCall’s home. Register here to attend 

• Aug. 30, first day of Youth Formation; meet at 10 a.m. in room 170 

• EYC and Youth Formation will continue meeting at their usual times until we get into the holiday season.
