New Youth Band
You're enthusiastically invited to worship with us at 9 a.m. this Sunday, Dec. 21, where our newly formed St. David's Youth Band will lead worship for the entrance hymn of the service. This group was formed as a collaboration between our Youth and Music Ministries. They have been working together since mid-October and their ministry leader, Mark Wischkaemper, is so pleased with the work they have put in. These are teens who love music and are passionate about church. This is their very first time leading worship as a group, and we hope to see them more in the spring semester as they get into a routine of practice together!
In mid-October, Kelsey and Mark led a "youth worship music interest meeting" to see what kinds of interest there may be in bringing youth into the worship music process. This meeting came about after youth ministry leaders saw how profoundly impacted our teens were by the music ministry they did on our trip to Glory Ridge, North Carolina, in July of this year. Four youth committed to forming a group and practicing together in that interest meeting and have met in November and December to practice.
Make sure to arrive at the 9 a.m. service on time to hear them lead worship with the hymn, 'Come Thou Long Expected Jesus!'
