Juneteenth is the oldest commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States.

Juneteenth is a powerful moment to honor African American freedom, education, and achievement.

We’ll gather for a themed breakfast featuring traditional "red foods" to symbolize the struggle and resilience of Black Americans. Then, at 10:00 a.m., in Crail C, please join us for a screening of the 2023 PBS documentary "Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom."

About the Film

Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom

A Black man is troubled by the legacy of American slavery and the misuse of Christianity to justify it. He travels throughout Texas and discovers how the Juneteenth holiday reveals the hope and courage that empowered the formerly enslaved and their descendants to fight for freedom in an often unjust society.
