6:30 p.m. Prayer Vigil

Join with local faith communities for an interfaith prayer vigil and food drive for refugees, asylum seekers, and other immigrants beginning Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, at St. David's.

Participants are welcome to attend our community dinner at 5:30 p.m. in Sumners Hall before the prayer vigil, which begins at 6:30 p.m. This service will be offered on the third Wednesday of each month. Parking is free during church services and events. Enter between 7th and 8th Street on Trinity Street. Child care is available during worship services.

The service will begin with gathering and brief prayers in Bethell Hall and then process outside where participants can choose to stay and pray together on the surface lot or join a prayerful procession north along San Jacinto, turning east on 10th Street, and returning south via Trinity Street with stops for prayer and song along the route. Everyone will join together for concluding prayers on the surface lot.

To help with food insecurity caused by the immigration crisis, the vigils will also serve as a food drive for El Buen Samaritano. All participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to each service.
