Learn how to advocate through visiting the Capitol, letter writing, volunteering, and meeting with community leaders.

Do you have a passion to engage in solving issues surrounding our community and city? Bring the teachings of the Gospel to the present by learning about advocacy. Previous experience is not necessary and time commitments are flexible.

Meeting times and time commitment: Advocacy is an all enccompassing work of the Community Engagement committee, the Racial Justice committee, the clergy and lay leadership. Our advocacy takes us to the Capitol routinely, engages us in letter writing, allows us to interact with HJAN (Health And Justice Advocacy Network- a network of Episcopalians and community members interested in health policy and how it impacts the Episcopal Diocese of Texas and our state), and has us sitting in meetings with the mayor and the Homeless Strategy Division of the City of Austin. the ask is endless and the work very flexible. You need to know very little to begin. All that's required is a passion for engaging in solving the issues surrounding our community and City.

Our advocacy takes us to the Capitol routinely, engages us in letter writing, meetings with HJAN, the Downtown Cluster, the Mayor and the Homeless Strategy Division.
