Bishop Alinafe Kalemba Visits St. David's

The Rt. Rev. Alinafe Kalemba visited Austin last week. The bishop was hosted by Director of Stewardship Eric Malnassy and Warm Heart International founder Tom Gebhard. They toured the city stopping to get the bishop fitted for new cowboy boots, visiting Next-to-New, and had a celebratory dinner with St. David's clergy, staff, and supporters of the work of Warm Heart International.

This past Sunday, Aug. 10, Bishop Alinafe Kalemba preached at 9 and 11:15 a.m. services. He brought greetings from the Anglican Diocese of Southern Malawi and a message of service to others in his sermon. At these services the loose offering was designated to the Anglican Diocese of Southern Malawi. All were invited to donate online by choosing “Warm Heart International” for the fund, and “Diocese of Southern Malawi” for the sub fund.

After the 9 a.m. Holy Eucharist he and Father Chuck joined the parish in Bethell Hall for a conversation about the relationship between St. David's and the Diocese of Southern Malawi. A slideshow was presented with photos of Father Chuck's recent visit to Southern Malawi with board members of Warm Heart International visiting the many ongoing projects including supporting girls' education, water accessibility, and the Mindanti Maternity Clinic.
