Helping Our Neighbors During Cold Weather

12Jan

We would like to extend our deepest thanks to the St. David’s parishioners and staff who have donated and volunteered to prepare us to help our unhoused neighbors who could be affected by the upcoming freeze. Due to that support, St. David’s staff and volunteers will be able to assist our community in these vital ways:

  • Sunday Morning – St. David’s has prepared bags of cold-weather supplies to give to our unhoused neighbors who attend the church breakfast from 8 a.m.-Noon. The bag has a flyer attached to it explaining that a freeze is coming and how to seek shelter that evening.
  • Sunday Afternoon – At Trinity Streets from 3-5 p.m., we give out information about how to seek Cold Weather Shelter Sunday night and distribute cold-weather backpacks that have been prepared by St. David’s volunteers.
  • On Monday – We will coordinate with Trinity Staff to distribute more of our cold-weather supplies, backpacks, and information on ways to seek Cold Weather Shelter.

If you’d like to contribute to St. David’s cold weather supplies, please visit our Amazon Wish List.

If you would like to volunteer for our Cold Weather support effort, email Dianne Hardy-Garcia. Or, you can just show up from 6-7 p.m. to volunteer on Wednesday evenings after our parish dinner. We’d love to see you – thank you!
