On Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, our pets joined us for dinner in Sumners Hall before following Associate Rector the Rev. Hope Tinsley Benko and Director of Music Bethell Hall Mark Wishkaemper downstairs to the Playground for a Blessing of the Pets service.
Dogs, cats (via phone photos), and even a guinea pig named Godzilla, gathered for song and prayer in a St. Francis Day celebration of the love pets bring to our lives. St. Francis medals and cards with blessings were offered along with an invitation to ask Mother Hope for a blessing for more shy pets who could not attend.
