Stories of Discernment: Chaz Nailor

23Aug
God’s call came to me through curiosity one day: “What does it mean to be confirmed?”

how did you discern god's will?

I felt called to action after a sum 10+ years of music ministry at St. David’s and through its community of fellow musicians.

was there a moment or sign when you knew the voice of god was present?

God’s call came to me through curiosity one day: “What does it mean to be confirmed?”, I asked a clergy. I learned that any baptized person is welcome to prepare for confirmation and be strengthened for ministry by the Holy Spirit. I thought, “Sign me up. There’s no time like the present to welcome the fortifying Holy Spirit into one’s ministry.”

what is your continuing discernment practice?

My discernment practice is almost daily, studying and practicing poetry, psalms, and other sacred texts set to music. I am blessed beyond measure to experience God's Word as both text and music.

STORIES OF DISCERNMENT
These Stories of Discernment came out of our 2024 year-long focus on discernment as a parish. Throughout the summer, we will share these stories to inspire our community to continue to explore ways to listen to God’s call in our lives as individuals and as a parish.
