"Nothing in Particular": The Decline of Religious Affiliation in the United States

Sunday, Aug. 24
10 a.m., Crail C

Daniel S. Wise, Ph. D. will speak on the American spiritual landscape from the turn of the 20th century. Since the first decade of the 2000s, the "nones," meaning those Americans who claim no religious affiliation on surveys, have been a hot topic among cultural commentators and religion scholars. In just the past few years, a wrench has been thrown into the emerging picture of the new American spiritual status quo: the rise of the religiously affiliated seems to have halted (at least for now).
