If you have been to St. David’s or driven by in the last few weeks, you may have noticed that the protected sidewalk walkways and most of the scaffolding has been removed from the exterior. This is exciting news as it means the exterior stucco work on the Historic Church has been completed, except for painting touchup and installation of the new outside protective glass for the stained-glass windows.
The work on the inside of the church continues and is progressing on schedule. The new wood floor in the nave of the church has been installed and is set to be stained and a protective sealant applied in the next week. The pendant lights that hang down from the ceiling have been installed (with no tie rods going through them like before!). Once the floor is finished being stained, the sound system and speakers will be installed, painting of the chancel columns and the Good Samaritan Chapel will be completed, the south, east and west wood doors installed, the new organ console installed, and organ pipes will be put back. All the work is on schedule.
