2026 Community Grants Awarded

The St. David’s Grants Committee for Community Outreach is happy to announce our 2026 grant recipients. 

St. David’s has a long history of – and deep commitment to – helping people in need in the Austin community. As part of these ongoing efforts, St. David’s distributes annual grants to support non-profit organizations that serve those in need and disadvantaged populations in Austin and Travis County.

The Grants Committee for Community Outreach (GCCO) reports to the vestry of St. David’s Episcopal Church. The GCCO administers the church grant proposal process and makes funding recommendations to the vestry, which then approves the grant recipients. 

St. David’s Community Grants are funded by revenue generated by Next-to-New, St. David’s consignment and resale shop. Since 1959, St. David’s has distributed nearly $3 million in community grant funding. To support future community grants, please visit our shop.

2026 Community Grant Recipients

On Welcome Home Sunday, Aug. 16, we celebrated the work of these non-profits and met their representatives who attended our 10:30 a.m. all-parish worship. Thank you to our grants committee, volunteers, and the staff at Next-to-New.

trinity center

Serving the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of our economically poor and unhoused neighbors in downtown Austin for more than 25 years. Trinity Center will receive a grant of $20,000 to support the Cooling Center Initiative, which offers life-saving relief and essential services to individuals experiencing homelessness during Austin’s extreme heat.

Providing trauma-informed, culturally responsive support for women navigating incarceration, family separation, and recovery from violence and instability. A grant of $15,000 will support their Turning Point Collective Transitional Healing Home, a safe place where women can rebuild stability and reconnect with their communities after incarceration.

Life Anew Restorative justice

Founded to address the root causes of harm, disconnection, and inequality within communities – particularly those disproportionately impacted by poverty, violence, and systematic barriers. Life Anew offers programming that strengthens relationships, builds emotional intelligence, and creates pathways to economic and social stability. A$15,000 grant will support the Youth Ambassador program, which equips local middle and high school students with the skills, confidence, and support they need to become positive peer leaders on their campuses.

Provides community-based services to support individuals and families experiencing poverty, housing instability, and homelessness in Travis County. A grant of $10,000 will support their Bridging Gaps: Housing Access Education and Navigation Initiative, which helps individuals experiencing homelessness navigate Austin’s housing systems while also connecting them to the basic resources and community relationships needed to stabilize their lives.

Founded in response to alarming maternal health disparities in Central Texas, Black Mamas’ mission is to ensure that Black women survive and thrive before, during, and after childbirth. A $10,000 grant from St. David’s will support the WARMTH program (Wraparound Resources for Maternal Transformative Healing), which provides resource navigation and direct financial assistance for essential needs.

Provides diapers, baby wipes, and period products for 39 partner agencies across seven counties in Central Texas, supporting the health, dignity, and stability of low-income parents and babies. A grant of $10,000 from St. David’s will allow them to purchase diapers directly from manufacturers for their Diaper Distribution Program.
