Juneteenth, observed nationally on June 19, is the oldest known celebration commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. On Sunday, June 22, we invite you to celebrate African American freedom, education, and achievement, as well as a renewed commitment to work for racial justice.
Juneteenth Breakfast
8:30-11:30 a.m., Sumners Hall
Breakfast will feature delicious red foods traditionally served on Juneteenth, honoring those who fought for freedom and to symbolize the struggle and resilience of Black people.
Juneteenth Recognition in Worship
9 and 11:15 a.m. Holy Eucharists
We will recognize Juneteenth in our worship services in Historic Church.
Faith and Film: Juneteenth: The Long Road to Freedom
10-11 a.m., Crail C
Discuss the PBS documentary on the history of Juneteenth, the current social climate, and the hope that comes from the holiday.
