Fall 2026 Adult Formation: Via Media: Understanding Anglicanism
This class will meet every Sunday at 10 a.m., starting Aug. 30 to Sept. 20.
Tune in Sunday Mornings in Crail C this Fall for big topics in Adult Formation. First up, we’ll be tackling our Anglican identity in “The Via Media: Understanding Anglicanism.” Classes will cover the history of St. David’s and its place in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas today; the history of Anglicanism and the messy family of God; the theological guardrails of our inclusive tradition; and a survey of the global Anglican landscape today. Speakers will include St. David’s clergy, staff, and faculty from nearby Seminary of the Southwest.
By mid-fall, we’ll kick of a three-week series called “Stewardship for Sweaty People: Talking about God and Money with Grace.” Money can be a topic that causes some of us to break out into hives just thinking about it, so we’ll be broadening the conversation to the context of stewardship, covering the biblical impetus for giving and tithing, a grace-filled approach to financial maturity and estate planning, and even how planning now for your funeral is an act of deep faithfulness to and stewardship of your loved ones’ grieving process.
Before we reach Advent, the parish will be led by our Director of Community Engagement and Advocacy, Dianne Hardy-Garcia, in understanding the challenges ahead as midterm elections loom, as the Texas legislative session opens in January, and how as people of God we can be both radically honest and also radically hopeful, even in the midst of great injustice and fear.
