June 8: Pentecost: The Original DEI Program

We often think of the story of Pentecost as a “miracle of the tongue”—the disciples are able to speak in a variety of languages that were not native to them because of the gift of the Holy Spirit. Join Dr. Mona West as she invites us to also think about Pentecost as a “miracle of the ear”—those gathered there were also empowered to open themselves to what was being said. The message of Pentecost is that the church needs both the miracle of the tongue and the miracle of the ear to truly live into the diversity to which God has called us.
